Doesn't even matter Rivera is one best closer of all time! Papelbon is a young and great player but still has a long way to go before you can compare him to Rivera!

He didn't disrespect him. He didn't say I'm better than Mariano. He just said he would want the ball. Theres not a dang thing wrong with it.

yes so that means papelbon has a lot more all star games and i dont know how much history you can really make as a closer in an allstar game...so why not accept the fact that youre not gonna get it over the best closer all time, in his own stadium and that being the last all star game there might be his last regardless...but hey thanks for putting it in perspective for me

I don't care what Papelbon said and I'm a huge Yankees fan! I don't care if superman was in the bullpen getting ready I would still rather me close a game before anyone else! So I can see where Papelbon is coming from!
